Probably my favourite fast-packing route so far (roughly 90km)
Day 1: We parked our car in Makarora and ran 30km up the Wilkin River to Top Forks Hut. Day 2: from the hut we ran up to Lake Castalia via Lucidus Lake - a nice easy day Day 3: up and over Rabbit Pass and down the East Matukituki River to Rock of Ages Bivy. A big day. Day 4: jog out to Cameron flat and hitch back to Wanaka
