Brewster Hut: Ski Touring

Ski Touring above Brewster Hut - a great overnighter close to Wanaka.

We left Wanaka at 7am and drove out to the Brewster track (1hr). We then hiked up to Brewster Hut with our skis on our packs (2.5 hours, 1000m vert). From there we hiked up a bit further to the snow line after dumping some weight at the hut, put our skis on and ski’d around to the glacier and back with a few little runs in between. We spent the night in the hut and met some guys who had climbed to the top of Brewster and ski’d all the way down the glacier. A nice goal for next time!
