Black Peak

For this weekend we were keen to get up high to a South facing hut to try get a glimpse of the Aurora Australis, and combine it with some cool ridge-line running. We picked McIntosh hut above Glenorchy, from which we got an amazing view of the Aurora and an incredible run up to Black Peak the next day.

Trip stats:

• Day 1: run up to McIntosh Hut, 10km (2.5hours)
• Day 2: run from McIntosh Hut up to Black Peak and back down to carpark, 16km (4 hrs 30)
